So which should you start with? If you want large, functional parts like brackets, organizers, or prototypes, begin with filament: cheaper materials, easier cleanup, and far less fuss. If your heart is set on tabletop miniatures, jewelry, or anything where fine detail is the whole point, resin rewards the extra effort. Many makers eventually keep both, using FDM for rough drafts in PLA or PETG and SLA for showpiece detail.
